I initially wrote “Matt's Wedding” as a wedding march-like strathspey for both Emmy and Matt, and “Emmy's Wedding” as the companion reel for their medley dance. At that point, the tunes were both named “Emmy and Matt's Wedding”. Emmy and Matt later decided to refer to the strathspey and reel parts of the medley as standalone dances and that is how the tunes got their independant names.
